18 months and wearing momma's clothes?

So, I got this new outfit the other day, but momma said that it wasn't really new. It was hers! It took me a while to understand, and I'm still a bit confused, but I guess she wore this same outfit when she was my age.  (She was my age?) She was so excited that it finally fit me, so I modeled for her: I love it!
**** UPDATE!*** I just got off of the phone with Nanny Sharon and she let me know that my momma's grandmom actually made this for my momma. Wow! My Great-Grandmom Doctorchik was pretty talented. Don't you think? That makes this outfit even more special!

Cheese!

This is the back.

Beach Baby

I just spent a super fun day at the beach with Momma and Papa, and you know what? I just realized something. I LOVE the beach! Okay, so I've  known that for a while now, but today I just realized how much I love it! I used to be scared of the water, after Momma and I got taken down by some big waves, but now I love it again.

My favorite thing to do is run into the water to chase the waves, but then run away really quickly before they can catch me! Usually, I win, but sometimes they knock me over. It makes me laugh and scream with excitement!  I also like to make friends at the beach. If other kids seem to be shy, I just walk up to them and start dancing to break the ice- it works like a charm! I mean, who doesn't like to dance?

Today all I really wanted to do was play in the water, but papa said the waves were too big, so we had to play in the sand instead. I was pretty upset at first, but then remembered how much fun filling up my bucket with sand is. Momma said that Summer is almost over, which means we won't be able to go to the beach every day anymore, but we can still go on the weekends when it's warm. That makes me excited!

Here are some pictures of me having fun at the beach!

In San Clemente, playing in the sand.

Checking out the rocks at the San Clemente Pier.

Playing with my friend, Carl, in San Clemente.

Checking out the surf in Newport.

It looks good, Momma. Let's go in!

Lots and lots of love!

Papa and me!

Weekends are extra fun because they usually mean fun filled days with my papa! This last weekend we had a lot of fun. Momma, Papa and I took an unexpected road trip to this place called Silverado Canyon. It's really only a short drive from our house, but it sure did feel like we were in another country... planet even! Here's a picture of Papa and I eating at the small (and only) cafe in Silverado. It was very yummy though. I had some very tasty watermelon!
We also drove to a neighborhood just down the road from us that is filled with horses. Papa told me it was called an equestrian neighborhood. Full of questions, I guess? Every house had horses! I loved watching them. Sorry, but I don't have any pictures of those beautiful houses or horses. You'll just have to take my word for it!

After our road trip we stopped at a park near our house so that I could run around a bit. It's hard being driven around in a car, you know? This is where the real fun was! Papa and I had lots of fun playing in the  big open field. I love to run, spin and twirl around!

I also got to play on the playground! I got to go down the slides and swing on the swings. It was so much fun! The swings and the airplane both made me sing out "weeeeeee weeeeee!" because it was so fun! Here are some pictures of Papa and I flying the airplane!

What a great day! I'm already looking forward to next weekend!!!

Loads of love!

Some of my favorite things...

I LOVE SUMMER! Momma and I go on long walks every day through our neighborhood and into the Old Town center. (And on weekends Papa gets to go too!) It's SO much fun and there is always so much to see. This is sort of a glimpse of what one of our walks look like:

Even though we live in a beautiful place surrounded by parks, playgrounds and basically a lot of fun stuff for a girl like me to do, you want to know what? One of MY very favorite things to do is play on the ramp next to the church in our neighborhood. In fact, I could spend the entire day there if Momma would let me!
Here's what I like to do...

Believe it or not, it never gets boring and it just makes me laugh and laugh! Who needs a playground when you have a ramp like this!

Next stop- the City of Orange signs. I like to point to all of the letters, and practice my "ABC's". Right now, my favorite letters are A, E and I- so I just look for those and Momma helps me with the rest. It would be so much easier if every letter was called "E" though, don't you think?
If I'm lucky, once we get into town we get to stop at Starbucks. "Mmmmm Mmmmmm!" They have the best ice water in town! Plus, I get to drink out of a big girl green straw! On special days, Momma and I even share banana bread! Yummy!

Here I am sitting on a bench with Momma taking a break from all that walking, and just people watching. I love watching people walk by, but more importantly, I love to do silly things to get their attention so they stop and say how cute I am. I sing songs, dance and play peek-a-boo. Momma says I'm such a funny little girl. Really though, I just like to see people smile!
